About Agonda Beach

Agonda is one of the beautiful beaches which is located in the outskirts of the main city and is close to the town of Maragaon. If you wish to spend your vacation, away from the crowd then this is the best place for you. This beach is three kilometers long, with palm trees lined up in either side of the beach. It is a white sand beach, which has a number of cottages, beach huts and beach tents where you can put up apart from different beach resorts.

During your trip to Agonda Beach you can drop in at Agonda village which is on your way to Banaulim. Apart from the beach, the main attraction of this place is Cabo de Rama, which is an ancient fort and was the abode of Lord Rama during his exile. A visit to the castle is a reflection of the past and you can know about that era. Even though the place is almost dilapidated, a visit to the place is a reminiscent of past and it also houses church of Santo Antonio. It offers wonderful view of the sea and the surrounding area.

How to reach Agonda Beach?

During your trip to Agonda beach, you can either opt for cab or you can hire cars which are available in rent from the airport or from the Margaon Railway station, in order to reach the island. It is better to negotiate regarding the fare before you start your journey. Buses are also available, which you can avail from Chaudi or Canacona in order to reach Agonda beach. Scooters and bikes are also available in rent and are preferred by those who want to have some fun and adventure during the trip.
